Comments: this is the first TTRPG I have ever designed. It won't be perfect, and I will definitely have missed some stuff. Contact me to right any wrongs. Version 1.3 is now available! Cinders can be considered full and finished for now, but it will be updated with aditional content and fixes to perfect it.

Cinders is a TTRPG set in the depths of the City: a gargantuan ancient megastructure that was once a shining metropolis built around the Tree of Life, a colossal, legendary tree from which fruit capable of giving eternal life and godhood once grew. More than a millenium ago, however, the Tree died, and the City was sealed.
With the Tree's death, humans withered, turning into husks: nearly soulless beings, squalid and frail, skittish and submissive.
The players are the exception among the husks: instead of accepting their suffering, hunger, and toil, they have chosen to fight for one of two causes: abandoning the City or reaching the upper spires, where the City's elites shut themselves when the City fell, and where is rumored that the greatest of treasures are kept, including fruit from the Tree of Life. The main problem is this: the City is a titanic structure, so big that, even in the upper spires, running from one wall to the other would take months, so tall and deep that it penetrates the clouds and roots in the bowels of the earth. And the City is an extremely dangerous place: magically-powered automata still roam its streets, ensuring peace reigns their own way, but also making sure that nobody escapes. Gangs og husks loot the ruins of the once great City, scraping barely enough to eat the next day. Monsters of ash and pestilence roam free, hungry, in search of souls to consume and bodies to rot.
Don't expect a happy ending, or even an ending at all: this is the City. The only constant within its ashy streets is the quiet roam of the fearsome automata and the horrible deaths you may suffer in its streets.
